Privacy Policy

What we collect, and where it comes from

When you call. Your name, phone number, your dog's name, age, and breed, and what's going on with your dog — including any bite or aggression history you disclose. We write it down and keep it in the systems we use to run the business.

When you register for a workshop. Registration runs through Calendly, and payment through Stripe. They collect your name, email address, phone number, your answers to the registration questions (including your dog's bite history), and your payment card. Calendly sends us everything except your card. We never see or store your card number. Calendly's and Stripe's own privacy policies govern what they hold.

When you attend a workshop. Your signed release or waiver, the vaccination proof you show at check-in, and your dog's profile and disclosure. Every workshop is photographed and video recorded in its entirety, and consent to that is a condition of attendance, as stated in the Workshop Terms.

When you visit this website. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and which buttons are tapped, including taps on the phone number. Google may set cookies in your browser to do this. We don't combine analytics data with anything you tell us by phone, and we don't use it for advertising. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies; the site works without them. The site sets no cookies of its own.

Your free owner account. Ridley K9 Academy is powered by K-nine Pros, a separate company. If you create a free owner account there, K-nine Pros' privacy policy governs that account. We use K-nine Pros to hold your dog's profile, evaluation report, training map, and homework log.

How we use it

To evaluate and train your dog, and to teach you. To confirm your registration and send you the workshop details, including the venue address, which goes only to paid registrants. To call you before a workshop to plan your dog's evaluation when your disclosure calls for it. To send reminders and event updates by phone, email, and text message, as described in the Workshop Terms. To answer your questions. To keep our own business records.

Text messages. If you register, you consent to transactional text messages about your registration. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

We don't sell your information. We don't rent it, trade it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who we share it with

The service providers named above — Calendly, Stripe, Google, and K-nine Pros — each for the purpose described. The photographer who records the workshop, who works for us. Our insurance carrier or legal counsel if a claim or incident requires it. Anyone the law requires us to share it with.

How long we keep it

Registration, release, and disclosure records for as long as we need them for legal, insurance, and safety reasons. Your dog's training records for as long as we're working with you and for a reasonable time after, so we can pick up where we left off. Photographs and video as described in the release you sign.

Your choices

Ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we're not required to keep. Opt out of text messages by replying STOP. Opt out of analytics with Google's browser add-on. California residents have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Children

This website is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 through it. Minors attend workshops only with a supervising adult, who is responsible for them and for any information provided on their behalf.

Changes

We may update this policy. The version on this page, with its effective date, is the one in effect.
