How to Teach a Dog to Drop It
Possessions can sometimes be an issue with some dogs. This is why we have included the drop it command in our obedience section. Having a clear understanding of how to get your dog to drop a possession is very important. Here you will learn what, why and how to train your puppy or dog to drop any object on command.
Teaching your dog the concept of trading a possession for another or a reward is important for your dog to understand so you can stay out of conflict with your dog. Possessions can create conflict in your relationship if not handled correctly. However if you work with and use possessions in positive reinforcement training they will begin to understand the need to work for their possession through you!
